FINDING WELLNESS & SPIRITUAL TRADITION ON A GREAT ADVENTURE
Family Holiday
Personalised WELLNESS travel
Our client embarked on an 8-day family holiday to explore the last Himalayan Kingdom - Bhutan. Instead of the traditional luxury route we combined 5* hotels with outdoor camping, personalised healing ceremonies with cultural investigations, and meetings with key local experts as guides for magical moments. Custom activities included a private visit with the curator of the Royal Textile Academy, mushroom foraging, heli-mountain biking, a private reading of their astrological signs and year ahead from a Lama at the National traditional Astrology Univeristy, and a deep healing workshop with a Dr from the institute of traditional medicine.
Wellness was a central element of this experience as the family embarked on a program of daily mindfulness techniques and guided wellness moments. This program started with a consultation with an Ayurvedic Doctor and traditional hot-stone baths to eliminate toxins and help conquer jet-lag. Each day the guests had their traditional Bhutanese herb perscriptions for breakfast followed by hiking, biking, or the sport of the day. Each evening a private family yoga class and meditation was held in a scenic location on the tour.
The guests also had nature immersions with daily hikes and climbs in the Punakha Valley, and notably a hike to the”Tiger’s Nest” 3000Ft above the floor of Paro Valley. The trip ended with a special audience with Princess Ashi Kesang Choden Wangchuck, Bhutan’s executive director of the Thanka Conservation Center and a scholar of Buddhist scriptural texts and iconography.
“We came back having experienced a Bhutan different to anything we could discovered on our own. This was the trip of our lifetime.”
